So for my google doodles i decided to go with the earth day themed one that has the smokestacks morphing into trees. I chose this one because it would definitely be a complex and meaningful animation because of how the opposites morph into each other. It shows that it is not too late to stop global warming and we can make a better, cleaner world for ourselves. I arranged the composition around the google logo so that one tree is the L and the other forms the side part of the G, then i put a cloud over the smaller tree to balance everything. So for my roughs i just played around with different types of stylized trees because i don't want realism. Also, the rest of the google logo will remain the same for brand recognition. For the animation part the i broke it down into steps:
1- the smoke blows away
2- the smokestacks start to sprout branches
3- the bg colour is changing to a blue
4- the buildings turn into green hills
5- pretty clouds roll in and birds fly by
6- then the trees will sprout leaves in different shapes and sizes
Also I am working on a special interactive segment of animation, it’s a surprise :P
