google doodle process

For this week I decided to go ahead with the sketch I had liked the best out of my initial 10. This sketch is to become an animated google doodle including a horse jumping through a jump replacing the first ‘o’ in google. I felt that this would be a good way to represent the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair since most people who know about this event is aware of this infamous cross country jump always included in the Royal Horse Show. It basically involves jumping through a giant bush.

This week, I began figuring out all of the different positions I would need for my horse animation. To keep things simpler and easier for myself I have decided to have the horse jump through in profile as opposed to coming towards us because I have found the first option much easier to break down and illustrate. I have also chosen to only animate an outline of a horse rather than a full colour horse with a rider. The jump itself will be detailed and in colour.

As an extra bit of animation perhaps once the horse jumps through, some flowers could bloom on some of the bushes surrounding the jump.

My next step is to take all of what I have worked on and researched and somehow make it move :)
